Sam was very proud to have been elected co-captain of the Oliver Ames high school baseball team by his peers at the end of last season’s successful varsity campaign. He looks forward to contributing next year in order to ensure the continued success and excellence of the Oliver Ames varsity baseball program. Sam has grown up in Easton and enjoyed playing baseball starting in tee-ball and continuing through to the Oliver Ames High School program. Sam has made many lasting friendships by playing baseball and has enjoyed playing on many teams in his career. He has benefited by playing under many knowledgeable baseball managers and coaches. Baseball has allowed him to travel to and expand his horizons. Sam has participated in the East Coast Eagles Baseball AAU program which took him to Baseball Heaven in Long Island, NY as well as Myrtle Beach, SC where he got to tour Coastal Carolina before they became NCAA Champions. Sam has also enjoyed playing for Easton Post 7 Legion baseball team with his friends and high school teammates for the past two years. Sam is undecided on his college choice and whether or not he’ll continue playing in college at this time.
Matt Muir

Matt was honored to be voted co-captain of this year’s Oliver Ames baseball team. A two-year starter at second base, Matt has been part of two OA teams that qualified for the MIAA tournament. Matt was named 2016 Hockomock League Underclassmen of the Year by Hockomock Sports. An Easton native, Matt began his baseball career at Easton Youth Baseball as a member of the Orioles and as a Hockomock All Star teammate of his co-captain and friend Sam Burr. Matt has played summer baseball for the last three seasons with Nokona USA, including tournaments in Lake Point, GA, Nashville and Charleston SC. Matt was invited to try out for the Northeast Area Code Games team following his sophomore season. During the summer of 2016, Matt traveled to the Dominican Republic with players from around the US to participate in the Dominican Baseball Camp. Off the field, Matt was recently inducted into the National Honor Society. He is also a starting guard on the OA basketball team. After he finishes his high school career, Matt would like to play college baseball.
